About Mercy

Mercy M’fon (they/them, she/her) is a queer Nigerian American writer, educator, and changemaker with a passion for storytelling that empowers and transforms. With over fifteen years of experience in community-driven education, Mercy has dedicated their career to amplifying underrepresented voices and creating spaces for connection, whether in the outdoors, through leadership, or on the page.

As the Founder and Director of Strategic Initiatives at Wild Diversity, Mercy has reshaped the landscape of outdoor accessibility, ensuring BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities have opportunities to experience nature on their own terms. Their groundbreaking work has been recognized nationwide, earning them awards such as the Individual Service Award from the Society of Outdoor Recreation Professionals and the Outdoor Retailer Inspiration Award. Mercy’s impact has also been highlighted in three documentaries, including Our Trails Too, and through speaking engagements at major conferences, including TEDx.

Now, Mercy is channeling their expertise and passion into the written word. Their upcoming book, Everyday Spiritual Gifts: A Practical Guide to Your Personal Magic, Spirit Guides, and Cosmic Journey, is a heartfelt guide to awakening intuitive abilities, deepening spiritual connection, and bringing balance to everyday life. With a focus on accessibility and empowerment, Mercy invites readers to explore their spiritual senses, embrace personal magic, and navigate life with greater joy and purpose.
